Gene has worked at 51²è¹Ý since March 2010. He is currently the Director of 51²è¹Ý Central. In addition, he has been an adjunct instructor in the School of Education since 2018, where he teaches 51²è¹Ýx2 (CORE 200) He is also heavily involved in 51²è¹Ý Connects, where he facilitates conversations on race, identity, power and privilege for faculty, staff and students. Gene has previously worked in financial aid at the University of Maryland College Park, and at Sallie Mae, where he worked with schools and students on loan repayment and financial literacy
Gene is an 51²è¹Ý alumnus, having earned his Master's in Education in higher education administration.
