Bio
Zev Cossin is an historical archaeologist and environmental anthropologist. His research investigates the social and ecological consequences of European colonialism in the Americas and how those consequences shape life today. He explores these questions through two main research projects in Cayambe, Ecuador and Winnipeg Junction, Minnesota. His research integrates archaeological, archival, oral historical and ethnographic components to highlight the historical conditions that shape contemporary global challenges of food insecurity, economic precarity, climate change, gender inequities, and the complexities of global development practices.

Zev is especially engaged in experiential learning that involves students in field research and community projects, both in the classroom and outside.
